Bamboo Art
Bamboo is an integral part of Vietnamese culture used to structure homes, be made into tools, as an ingredient in the local cuisine and more.
On this to a local bamboo workshop in Hoi An, interested students meet with an artisan who will share how this sustainable, renewable material is used by Vietnamese people. From learning about the traditional bamboo houses in local village and other bamboo facilities, to how things are made out of bamboo and how the village uses a special technique to treat the wood. After better understanding this respected resource’s value and the artist’s family’s deep passion for bamboo, enjoy some creative time making your own bamboo souvenir with some leaders help.
My Son Sanctuary
Lovers of architecture and ancient civilizations will not regret a day tour to the South of Vietnam to visit the My Son Hindu Sanctuary, a cluster of partially ruined temples that have long been abandoned, though once a thriving religious site of the early Champa tribe. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the sanctuary features stone sculptures of Hindu deities and towers amid the tropical jungle.

Vietnam's wood carving crafts can be said to be second to none in the world, with high-quality hardwood as the raw material and various shapes carved with knives, such as bodhisattvas, figures, animals, etc. They will use different knives to carve different figures, such as bold and powerful figures, while gentle figures will use delicate and watery knives.
